With a busy lifestyle, it’s sometimes difficult to find the time to see your local doctor, especially during a pandemic. At Atkins Chemist, we now offer a private GP service at times that suit you!

Benefits of a private Doctor

Flexible appointments

We have a full range of direct access GP services with the flexibility to fit around your busy schedule.

Convenience

Our Doctor Services mean that you don’t need to spend hours in the waiting rooms, or waiting for an appointment opening at your local GP practice.

Our GPs are highly experienced and have treated patients in NHS surgeries and private clinics.

How much does this cost?

You can pay for yourself following your appointment. Any medicines required following your appointment with our private doctor will be prescribed on a private prescription that you will need to pay for.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our private doctor service will be virtual first. You will be referred to our face-to-face services if the complaint cannot be dealt with virtually.

Both online and face-to-face appointments you will need to pay for.

Common Questions

Will It Affect My Relationship With My NHS GP?

In short, no. The patient’s health is the main concern for the GP. We encourage you to remain registered with your NHS doctor.

How Long Does It Take To Get An Appointment?

At Atkins Chemist, we aim to arrange an appointment with one of our private doctors on the same day as the booking. However, we aim to see patients within 24 hours from the time of booking.

Can My Child See A Private Doctor?

We are able to see children from birth, meaning people of all ages can be seen by our private doctors.
